A Farewell to LIFE Volunteer, Mark

Mark is leaving us for a while to travel and perhaps teach in China, but hopefully will return in the near future.  We enjoyed working with him at Khum Phucome Hotel and wish him well, hoping to see him again in the not too distant future.  Thanks for your help, Mark.

Furama Ends

It has been a very good month working with the staff at the Furama Hotel in Chiang Mai.  The staff members worked very hard and accomplished a lot, gaining confidence and new English language skills.  The need for increased English abilities has become vitally important to so many in the hospitality industry as more and more tourists arrive everyday and the deadline for AEC is now not so far away.  Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and dedication to not only the hotel they work for, but for providing a better tomorrow for their own future as valued workers for AEC.

LIFE Volunteers

LIFE volunteers - we love our treasured colleagues and friends!  We simply could not do half as much of the work that needs to be done without our volunteers. We are very proud of having such wonderful people help us and are always looking for new volunteers to help LIFE with its agenda. Full training is provided.

We currently have a happy extended team of volunteers working with us. Many of them use their time at LIFE to make new friends, satisfy their personal interests in teaching or working with Thai students of all ages, or just to learn new skills. Others have found that it improves their chances of getting a different job at a later time and is valuable experience on their resume.   You may wish to do more than one role working with LIFE such as teacher assistant, teacher, office or  marketing assistant, web moderator, and/or soon, become part of our mobile library division,  but no matter what you choose to do, we will encourage  and support you to do so.  No matter what your interests, the LIFE Team is here for you and hopes that you will take the first step and join us NOW!

Looking to try something new?

Volunteering with us at LIFE is a great way to meet new people, be involved in something really worthwhile as you learn valuable new skills and have fun. We will need additional volunteers during April as LIFE participates in an English camp for some of our undeserved community children.  Working together with LIFE University, we will be involved in a week long English camp for hill tribe children to help them build self esteem and confidence, while discouraging the use of drugs and educating them on the perils of the sex trafficking industry.  If you would like to participate, please contact us soon.

For more information, please review our Volunteer Program @ http://languageinstituteforempowerment.blogspot.com/p/volunteer-program.html or go directly to our menu listing on top tabs above. Thanks for listening and hope to hear from you soon.

Furama Hotel

Today LIFE team was teaching hotel staff about directions so we decided to go on a tour of the hotel and finally came to beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant with panoramic view of the city of Chiang Mai.  Beautiful spot and so, of course, I made reservation.

Continuing our program on directions, we created a floor map to practice practical application.  Everyone got involved:

ChiangMai Grandview Hotel

All week long from 9 to 4, LIFE team worked with staff members from Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel.  We were treated so nicely during our stay that it was hard to say goodbye.  Staff members worked hard to polish their English skills and make the most of the time they were given, and we thank them for allowing us to get to know them.  I am sure we will be back even just as friends.
