English Camp 2012 Bangkok

Today was the opening day for LIFE as it participated in the English Camp at Rattanakosin Technological College.  What a warm reception for LIFE and its teaching staff, and how proud were the more than 100 students, teachers and administrators to welcome us so graciously in the true spirit of the ASEAN Community.

The Director of Rattanakosin Technological College

Outstanding talent, energy and good will were the theme of the day as students and teachers shared their diverse and creative abilities with LIFE, and how fun were the students to teach with activities, games and lessons designed to encourage and promote English communication and conversation.

Completing the day's activities, our hosts provided food, entertainment and companionship in the most elegant and awesome manner in our own little house built by hand by students, and we can't thank them enough for their hospitality and generosity.

Then it was time for more dancing which eventually included LIFE teachers learning Thai movements -- awesome!

Sunday continued the warm welcome and hospitality shown by our hosts and their charges as LIFE challenged students once again to promote good English language skills, and they in turn showcased their learning abilities in competition for awards and rankings within their peer groups.

Too soon it was time to say goodbye, and LIFE couldn't have been more overwhelmed with the extent of the true camaraderie that had developed over the past several days.  Students and staff wished us well on our return journey, and LIFE would like to return the favor by wishing them much success in their future endeavors.

We hope to return soon for the next round!

Tiger School Camp

Today was a very successful day for LIFE teachers and students from Khansuwan Anusorn "Tiger" School, Chiang Mai.  Nearly 75 students participated in camp activities while learning about 10 countries in ASEAN Community.  A group of students represented each country and presented beautiful and creative exhibitions for their adopted community.  Then, after taking their "passport" from one country to the next, groups toured each country one by one to learn information and play games under instruction from LIFE teachers.  Both teachers and students had much to learn about Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.  At conclusion of day's activities, 10 groups made special presentations on stage to offer facts and information and demonstrate what they had learned about each country's culture and customs for which they received special ratings and rewards.  It was a very good day!
